Wastewater Sampling

Meeting the wastewater rules, without surprises

Periodic wastewater sampling is a condition for the proper operation of plants and businesses vis-a-vis the water utility. Exceeding the threshold values leads to "non-compliant wastewater" charges and fines that can reach high sums. Kesar Digum accompanies you with representative field sampling, testing at an accredited laboratory and a clear report that helps you meet the rules, identify the source of the exceedance and save on costs.

Key topics in wastewater sampling

Everything you need to understand before starting a wastewater monitoring program in your organization.

What is wastewater sampling

Wastewater sampling is the taking of samples from the wastewater stream at the discharge point, in a way that faithfully represents the wastewater composition. Sampling can be a grab sample for a single point in time, or composite over time - according to the water utility's requirement.

Which parameters are tested

The tests include biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), suspended solids, oils and fats, pH, heavy metals and industry-specific substances - according to the utility's rules and the type of activity.

Water utility rules

The Water and Sewage Corporations Rules (industrial wastewater) set mandatory threshold values and sampling frequency. An exceedance leads to a significant additional charge. We help you monitor, understand the reports and meet the required values.

Why it pays off

Organized sampling exposes exceedances early and allows treating the source of the pollution before it becomes a heavy financial charge. Proper monitoring saves money, prevents sanctions and maintains proper working relations with the utility.
